News
Corporate News
I am both honoured and delighted to
announce that, as of February 5th 2026,
Rosendahl Nextrom GmbH of Austria
acquired 100% of Windak Holding AB
shares. This has been a work in progress for
over 8 months. Windak owners were thrilled
to have found the right fit for Windak forging
forward, and most importantly, Windak’s
brand will continue independently within the
Rosendahl Nextrom/Knill Group.
The vertical integration of the two companies
is almost seamless. Rosendahl equipment
produces the cable, and Windak is making
the final packaging. Both Windak and the
Rosendahl team envision a bright and
prosperous future for Windak going forward,
with Windak Inc maintaining a very strong
market presence in the USA, and Rosendahl
very large network of customers worldwide.
It was a difficult decision to finally to let
Windak go after growing the company for
nearly 30 years. However, it was agreed by
owners that it was time to allow the next
generation to drive an even greater Windak.
We are eternally grateful for the exceptional
trust we have received from our customers,
especially during the early years. Our motto
has always been to fulfill our promise of
support and commitment; only then can
long-term trust be built. We also thank all
our suppliers for the cooperation during the
years. Finally, a huge thank you to all our
employees that been with us for many years.

3-in-1 Automated Coiling with
Packing Versatility
Cable manufacturers are facing a new set of
challenges in packaging their high-value cables.
Today’s priorities extend beyond protection
and performance to include environmental
compatibility, operational efficiency, reduced
emissions, and minimizing downtime across the
supply chain.
The MultiCoiler MC260 was developed as a
structured and forward-thinking response to
these emerging challenges.
Designed as a dual-head, fully automated
Coiling Machine, the MC260 enables high-
speed packaging of single-core wires in
standard coil lengths (such as 100 m). It also
supports multicore cable applications and short-
length coils, ensuring consistently high-quality
coils even under difficult production conditions.
MultiCoiler MC260
A key distinguishing feature of the MC260
is its availability in 3 different packaging
configurations. During project planning, cable
manufacturers can select the solution that best
aligns with their product strategy, production
goals, and specific market requirements.
1. MC260 Eco – direct coil-in-a-box
packaging with the EcoPacker EP260
2. MC260 Smart – integrated stretch film unit
for securing the cable end and maintaining
the coil shape
3. MC260 Smart+ – tuck-under solution with
a self-retained cable end, preventing the
loose cable end from springing open
Each configuration is engineered and optimized
for its specific packaging method.

Coiling non-standard products
without compromising
packaging quality.
Product portfolios are getting broader. Many
cable manufacturers now run not only standard
building wire, but also larger cross-sections,
stiffer constructions, garden hoses and flexible
tube-based products that behave very differently
during winding and handling.
The challenge is not just forming a good coil, but
keeping it stable, traceable, and easy to handle
through the rest of the line and into logistics.
The Windak FlexCoilers FC5 and FC8 are
designed not only for traditional applications.
They confidently handle these less-standard,
more demanding products while maintaining coil
integrity, packaging quality, and
operational efficiency.
Expanding Possibilities
with Windak FlexCoilers
Coiling Larger and More
Demanding Cables
While many coilers focus on conventional cable
sizes, the FC Series extends capabilities to
bigger and more complex products.
With a coil outside diameter up to ø800 mm
(32″), the FlexCoiler comes with many features:
•
Very broad product range
•
Sophisticated processing of flat cables
•
Different types of coil stabilization in shape
and fixing of the cable end are available
•
Flexible adjustment of the Coil’s geometry
•
Precise tension control
•
Operational reliability, stability and robust
design ensure high output even after many
years of full operation.
This capability becomes especially valuable
when working with larger cable constructions
– for example, 5x16mm2 – as weight, stiffness
and “coil memory” can quickly make packaging
a bottleneck.
For producers expanding into higher-value or
higher-weight cable segments, this flexibility
becomes a strategic advantage.

Metal Clad Cable - Coiling
Without Slippage – Windak’s
Crimping Technology
Packaging metal clad cables (MC cables) in
coils presents a particular challenge: Since
the cable inside is not firmly connected to
the metal sheathing, it requires a special
design of the winding head. The winding
process may become inconsistent, which
could affect coil quality.
Beyond Cable: Tube Products
and Garden Hoses
Flexibility is not just part of the name; the
FlexCoiler reflects maximum flexibility.
It can be used to package far more products
than just cables:
•
Tube products
•
Garden hoses
•
Microducts
•
Flexible conduits
•
Many more flexible products
The simple and intuitive line control is achieved
via a large touchscreen. Operators will love it.
Controllers will love it too, as any errors or
damage to the product are recorded, leading
to continuous improvement of operation and a
corresponding increase in output.
The Windak FlexCoiler addresses this with an
integrated crimping solution that securely grips
and presses the metal clad, holding it together
with the cable inside for stable, repeatable
winding. It guarantees that the cable length
inside the metal clad is accurate, offering
a dependable solution that outpaces other
equipment on the market.
For MC cable applications, cable ends can also
be secured using stretch wrap, providing reliable
end fixation without a strapper when required.
1. Prevents metal clad slippage
2. Consistent crimping pressure on MC cable
3. Ensures accurate inner cable length
4. Fast, stable winding performance

Windak News | Upgrades and New Equipment
Securing Heavy and Non-
Standard Coils
When coiling larger or alternative products,
packaging and securing become just as
important as winding precision.
To keep coil shape consistent and cable ends
protected during handling, the FC5 and FC8
can be equipped with dedicated solutions to
fix the cable end.
For optimal cable packaging, securing both
the geometry and the cable end is crucial.
The FlexCoiler series coilers can be equipped
with various options, depending on the
cable’s characteristics:
•
Stretch wrap applied to the outer
circumference while still inside the
winding head, thus maintaining the coil’s
shape and securing the cable end.
•
Strapping systems for securing coil
shape and cable ends, tailored to your
specific requirements.
Available strapper configurations include:
• One diametrical strap over the coil
• Two straps through the eye
• Four straps through the eye combined
with a rotation station
This allows the securing method to be
matched to product stiffness, coil weight,
and handling flow.
•
AAC (Aluminum) wire end fixation using
an integrated automated tape unit. The
automated cable end tape system applies
tape to fix and secure the AAC wire end
in a repeatable way, without manual
handling.
This improves:
• Packaging consistency
• Operator safety
• Downstream pallet stability
The individually wrapped coils can then
be moved to the subsequent stages of the
overall packaging process without ever
becoming loose or losing the cable end.
Biodegradable stretch film options are
available for environmentally friendly packaging.

Upgrades and New Equipment | Windak News
Shrink wrap or box packing
The supplied coils can either be shrink-wrapped
or packed in a box. It is also possible to integrate
both versions into a single system to increase the
overall machine utilization.
Both types of packaging offer their advantages.
Regarding resistance to harsh environmental
conditions (such as high humidity, large
temperature fluctuations, etc.), shrink film
packaging offers greater resistance without losing
its shape.
While box packaging is more environmentally
friendly, it is also more susceptible to
environmental influences.
Windak offers a suitable solution for both versions.
Fully Automated Palletizing of
Coils – Especially Heavy Coils
Workers are important and valuable, which is
why safety standards have been introduced
to protect their health. Heavier coils, as well
as high-output machines, require automated
palletizing of the packed coils without placing
undue strain on workers, while also ensuring
the desired output.
Windak offers optimized automatic palletizing
solutions for coils, considering the stacking
pattern on the pallet.
The palletizers can be equipped with many
additional features:
•
Print & Apply Label Applicator
•
Streamer Unit – to apply a tape on the
outer circumference
•
Coil stacker (up to 5 coils on top of each
other) – also for Boxes
•
Automatic empty pallet loading from pallet
accumulator
•
Insertion of “Slip Sheet” between layers
•
Integration of Stretch wrapping of the
entire pallet
Together with the FlexCoiler, this results in a
fully integrated end-of-line packaging solution.
A Solution for Product Diversity
For manufacturers aiming to expand into larger
cross-sections and non-standard flexible products,
the FC Series offers a practical advantage:
•
Fully automatic operation
•
Precision engineering
•
Rapid product size adaptability
•
Ergonomic and safe design
•
Integrated packaging solutions
Together with the FlexCoiler, this results in a fully
integrated end-of-line packaging solution.

WinBack Your Performance: A
Smarter Way to Modernize Existing
Cable Packaging Lines
In the wire and cable industry, reliability is
everything. Many Windak systems installed
10 or even 15 years ago are still mechanically
strong and productive. However, what often
changes first is not the machine itself, but the
control technology behind it.
As PLC platforms, drives, and electronic
components age, some parts gradually
become obsolete. This can make spare parts
difficult to source, extend service lead times,
and increase the risk of unplanned downtime.
For manufacturers operating high-output lines,
even short interruptions can quickly turn into
lost production and higher costs.
But productivity is not the only concern.
As systems age, electrical components, safety
circuits, and emergency systems may no longer
meet current standards or best practices.
Outdated controls can limit diagnostics, reduce
transparency, and increase operational risk
— especially in environments where operators
work close to moving reels, rotating equipment,
and automated handling systems.
Modernization is therefore not only about
performance.
It is also about protecting people, ensuring
compliance, and maintaining a safe working
environment.
To address this challenge, Windak has
introduced the WinBack Program — a
structured upgrade and trade-in initiative
designed to help customers modernize their
existing systems while protecting productivity,
safety and investment.
Why WinBack?
WinBack is built around a simple idea:
even the best systems need renewal to
stay competitive.
The program offers customers clear options

WinWeek — Your First
Week, Your First Win
Service Option for EMEA Customers
Starting a new cable packaging line is a critical moment.
Commissioning may be complete, but everyone in
production knows the truth: real challenges begin when
live production starts. Operators move from test runs to full
shifts. Small adjustments suddenly matter. Questions arise
and pressure builds.
That’s exactly where WinWeek comes in.
What is WinWeek?
WinWeek is an optional Windak service offering
one additional week of on-site expert support after
commissioning, during the most sensitive phase of
the project — the first real production runs.
Instead of handing over the line and stepping away,
our specialist stays on-site to guide operators, fine-
tune processes, and support production teams as
they move into full operation.
The result?
A smoother transition from commissioning to live
production, confident operators, and a stronger start.
Why the First Week Matters
The first production week often defines
long-term performance:
•
Operators are still learning real-world
behavior, not test scenarios
•
Minor issues can turn into unnecessary
downtime
•
Stress levels are high, especially during
shift changes
•
Efficiency targets feel close, but just
out of reach
WinWeek turns this risk phase into a
winning phase.
